PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Highlands View Condos are a new construction residential development in Vail, Colorado, designed to perform in a demanding alpine environment where snow, temperature swings, and prolonged seasonal exposure create significant construction challenges.

For this project, SlopeShield Plus SA was installed across 80,000 square feet of OSB roof substrate. During construction, the membrane served as a vapor permeable air barrier and temporary weather protection layer, helping shield the roof assembly from snow, rain, and wind while still allowing the substrate to dry. This fully adhered membrane also provided durability and reliable traction for installers, maintaining performance under active jobsite conditions.

Beyond the construction phase, SlopeShield Plus SA continues to deliver value as part of the completed roof assembly. Its air barrier properties contribute to improved building efficiency, supporting long-term energy performance in the high-altitude climate of Vail.

SlopeShield Plus SA provides a dual-purpose solution, protecting the structure during construction while enhancing efficiency and resilience once the building is occupied.

This project was recognized by the Colorado Roofing Association, at their 2025 awards program, highlighting the successful integration of high-performance roofing practices in challenging mountain environments.
